Who is David Lefèvre?
David Lefèvre is a French web entrepreneur. He started his online business in January 2012 with two main sources of income: affiliate marketing and freelancing. He has made a living online for more than ten years and has created several training courses on the subject, taken by several thousand students.
For several months, David looked for a freelance platform with a referral programme, without finding one. So he decided to build it with Léa, his co-founder: in December 2019, they launched the freelance platform BeFreelancr (affiliate link). It lets independent digital professionals sell their services with no subscription: you only pay when you sell.

Why this blog and the YouTube channel
David created this blog to help freelancers with very practical questions and to showcase their skills, hence the name Freelance Skills. To stay close to the audience, he also launched the Freelance Skills YouTube channel (in French), where freelancers find answers to the most common questions and can suggest new topics in the comments.
The English section of the blog is written for freelancers who want to learn and grow: finding clients, setting prices, choosing platforms and organising their work. Start with our two guides:
How we write and update our guides
- For rules on registration, VAT, tax or data protection, we link to official sources (European Commission, national authorities) rather than summarising them from memory.
- Each guide shows the date of its last update, and we review it when rules or platform terms change.
- Our content is general information, not legal or tax advice; we say so where it matters.
Transparency about our links with BeFreelancr
Freelance Skills is the blog of David Lefèvre, co-founder of the BeFreelancr platform, and it is written by the BeFreelancr team. It is published by Alfange SASU. We therefore talk about BeFreelancr with first-hand knowledge, but not neutrally. Some links to BeFreelancr on this blog are affiliate links: if you sign up or buy a service through them, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. These links are marked “affiliate link”. When we present other platforms, we also explain their strengths, and we point out BeFreelancr’s limits where there are any.
